Music & Dance at Jigyasa

We are fortunate to have tied up with excellent teachers who are passionate about teaching their craft to little children.

Music is taught by a teacher who not only is an expert; but also understands the needs of children and how to bring out and nurture their musicality. The instruments offered include keyboard, djembe drums, violin and guitar.

For dance, the teacher is an expert in Bharatnatyam and is very popular with the children. The fact that she understands children very well is testament to how much the children enjoy these classes.

Music Classes

music classes

Timings: 9 - 10 am, Every Saturday

3 Age groups offered: 3 to 6 years, 6 to 9 years, Adults

The Music Classes are a great way for children and adults to get exposed to and learn new instruments. The different groups each have their own instructor, and so there is plenty of scope for one-on-one instruction.

The music classes are currently held on one day a week, on Saturday mornings. However, if there is sufficient demand for evening classes, these can be organized on a weekday as well in the evening.

The instructor is Mr. Umesh of Fusions Music Academy, who has worked with over 500 children over the last few years. As such, he has plenty of experience in teaching little children and taking them from strength to strength.

The Bharatnatyam classes at Jigyasa are taken by Ms. Nithya, who is a young dancer trained in a variety of classical and traditional styles. She incorporates a variety of different teaching techniques and is therefore able to make the classes very interesting for little children. In addition to teaching the dance sequences, she makes it a point to incorporate lots of yoga and stretching into the routines, thereby providing a very good opportunity for children to build strength and focus.

Ms. Nithya has a real passion for her art - so much so that she has compeleted a Masters degree in Movement. This puts her in a unique position to blend theory and practice, resulting in excellent outcomes for the children.
